2019/2020 Annual Report
The Construction Center of Excellence (CCE) connects the construction industry to education partners across the state of Washington.
CCE is one of 11 Centers of Excellence that serve all of Washington State. Learn more about the centers at www.coewa.com
We develop activities and resources in response to the needs that the construction industry communicates to us. The center keeps current with future trends, labor market data, changes in technology and materials through our robust advisory board, participation on boards and with numerous industry associations, as well as direct contact with employers.
The center uses multiple strategies and methods to communicate the industry’s needs to Washington’s K-20 education partners. Throughout the year the center produces and attends conferences, workshops, and webinars; participate on community and technical college and K-12 construction advisory boards; and connects educators to externships.
CCE supports industry by providing strategies for recruitment and retention while partnering with state agencies. We partner with the Washington State Dept. of Corrections, Dept. of Labor & Industries, Employment Security, and Workforce Development Councils to support a top-down approach to increasing awareness of and access to construction careers.
