2021–2022 Special Projects

 

Commercial Driver’s License

CCE partnered with two Centers of Excellence to convene employer roundtables and develop recommendations for Washington’s college system to prepare more qualified truck drivers.

Regional Pre-apprenticeship collaborative (RPAC)

CCE hosts the RPAC website, provides staff support, and helped redevelop the RPAC strategic plan and welcome packet for new members.

Mentorship Matters

CCE partnered with Sound Transit to create a website with video featuring Lakeside Industries and mentoring curriculum for both apprentices and journeyworkers.

Empower womens leadership conference

200+ workers, apprentices, labor members, and employers attended the conference to enjoy inspiring keynotes and informative panels virtually.

National Apprenticeship Week Toolkit

CCE and partners built a toolkit to promote apprenticeship and highlight careers and pathways to living-wage careers in construction. 

Additional Highlights

CCE Director Kristi Grassman served as a panelist at the National Council for Workforce Education’s 2022 Conference in Tucson, AZ. 

CCE produced the Pathways to Apprenticeship video series to help job seekers explore the possibilities in Washington’s building trades.

Resources

CCE creates, curates, and disseminates resources to support the construction industry. In addition to the resources highlighted below, website resources were downloaded over 420 times. The top three downloads were: Construction Math Toolbox (339 downloads), ESL for the Trades (70 downloads), and Human Relations and Leadership Skills (8 downloads).
