Teachers, Counselors, Educators:

NOW is the time to consider careers in construction!.  Learn about the educational opportunities, hands on training and vast career opportunities jobs in this industry offer the Construction Career Pathways to Apprenticeship Event.

At this conference you will receive:

  • Tour Apprenticeship training centers and participate in hands on activities

  • Receive valuable career guidance tools and academic resources

  • Hear from apprentices and experts in the industry from many different careers

  • Connections to apprenticeship programs/how to get into apprenticeship programs

  • OSPI Clock Hours

  • Join us to learn about the Careers and Pathways into Construction

    Agenda:

    8:30 a.m. Coffee and Check-in

    9:00 a.m. Welcoming Remarks & Keynote  

    Welcome:  Shana Peschek, Director, Construction Center of Excellence

    Keynote:  “Apprenticeship 101: The Foundation for Success”

    9:45 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Guiding  Students toward Apprenticeship Hear from Apprenticeship Coordinators on when and how to apply for apprenticeship, what to do to get ready, what you should do to build your resume while waiting for openings.

    10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. Apprentice Panel: Hear from a panel of apprentices about their experiences and the benefits of apprenticeship

    11:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. Tour Sheet Metal Training Center

    11:45 a.m. Boxed Lunches :  Board bus to tour

    12:00 p.m. Program Tours

    2:00 pm. Return from Program Tours to Sheet Metal Training Center

    Event Evaluation, Clock Hours Evaluation & Adjourn

Please feel free to bring two to three students (juniors and seniors) that have expressed an interest in the trades. Please use the “add student” button on the registration page so we will have a correct count of students attending the event.
